Amy was born and raised in the small town of Electra, Texas. In 2002, she joined the United States Army, seeking purpose, adventure, and a chance to serve something greater than herself. She was assigned to the 1st Infantry Division, the famed "Big Red One," stationed in Schweinfurt, Germany. During her six years of active duty, Amy completed two year-long combat deployments to Iraq as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Her leadership and bravery earned her the Combat Action Badge for her role in combat operations.
After leaving the Army, she eventually settled into her dream of mountain living with her husband, Russell, and 5-year-old daughter Ruby. She loves the outdoors-camping, hiking, paddleboarding, and most importantly, building strong community ties. In March 2023, she joined Health4Heroes and quickly found her tribe among like-minded veterans and first responders. As a participant in the 2024 pilot program of Take Command!, Amy reignited her passion for fitness and committed to lifelong wellness goals.
Now serving as the Merchandise Coordinator, Amy helps us spread awareness of our mission through swag, apparel, and other Health4Heroes merchandise. The friendships she's made through the organization have become some of the most meaningful relationships of her life, and she takes immense pride in contributing to a community that empowers its members to heal, grow, and thrive.
