Robbie Popp

Director

Birthplace: Pueblo, CO
Affiliation: Firefighter
Company: Loveland Fire Rescue Dept.

After graduating high school, I attended the U.S. Air Force Academy where I played football and ran track for two years before transferring to Colorado State University in Fort Collins. I graduated in 2008 with a degree in Natural Resource Recreation and Tourism. Fueled by a lifelong passion for the outdoors, I originally set out to build a career in the recreation industry, but when the 2008/2009 downturn hit, life steered me in a new direction. In 2009, I joined the Loveland Fire Rescue Authority and quickly realized I'd found the greatest job in the world. While being a firefighter means witnessing people's best and worst moments, the emotional toll can be heavy over time. To stay balanced and grounded, I spend my free time with my family outdoors - shooting my bow, working out, hunting, fly fishing, and hitting the trails for long runs.
